Job description
We are looking for a committed and empathetic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school setting in Trowbridge, providing dedicated 1:1 support to a student with additional needs. This role is centred around building a strong, trusting relationship and delivering personalised support to help the student access learning, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide consistent 1:1 support to a student with Special Educational Needs
2. Assist in the delivery of tailored learning activities and interventions
3. Adapt resources and tasks to meet the student’s individual needs
4. Support emotional regulation, behaviour management, and social development
5. Help the student engage with lessons and maintain focus
6. Monitor and record progress, feeding back to teaching staff and SENCO
7. Implement strategies outlined in EHCPs or support plans
8. Promote independence, confidence, and inclusion within the classroom
Requirements
9. Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN (, ASD, SEMH, ADHD, MLD)
10. Patient, nurturing, and resilient approach
11. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
12. Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff

14. Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing
Desirable
15. Relevant qualifications (, CACHE Level 2/3, Teaching Assistant qualification)
16. Experience providing 1:1 support in a school or similar setting
17. Understanding of EHCPs and SEN support strategies
