The QC Inspector may supervise coatings operatives during protective treatment works and has the authority to halt work if continuation would result in non-compliance. Close collaboration with Coatings Paint Manager(s) and Supervisor(s) is essential.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Establish and monitor compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and internal work instructions throughout the project lifecycle.
· Conduct inspections and tests as per the Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) and relevant references, such as project specifications, reporting formats, and internal instructions.
· Record and verify ambient conditions to ensure they are suitable for the required processes.
· Ensure materials are stored, handled, and used per manufacturer requirements, with traceability maintained.
· Oversee painting and blasting personnel to ensure contracted requirements are met, including the use of serviceable equipment.
· Verify that inspection and test equipment is calibrated and serviceable, and ensure personnel are trained in its proper use.
· Confirm that blast medium and coating materials comply with project specifications and ensure surface preparation meets required standards.
· Monitor dry film thickness, re-coating intervals, and curing activities to ensure adherence to specifications.
· Ensure identification marks or tags removed or overcoated are appropriately replaced.
· Prepare daily reports detailing work status and progress.
· Participate in internal and third-party audits of the company's quality control system.
· Liaise with client representatives for inspections and data outputs.
· Address and prevent non-compliance issues proactively during all preparation and coating activities.

ACCOUNTABILITY:
The QC Inspector reports directly to the Contracts Manager daily and has an indirect reporting line to the Project Manager, Project Director and HSEQ Director on quality-related issues. Compliance with ISO9001:2015 guidance is essential.
PROFILE:
The QC Inspector (Coatings) must hold qualifications to either NACE Level 3 or ICORR Level 3.
They should have extensive coatings industry experience, particularly Marine, including coatings inspection on large-scale projects. A thorough understanding of the responsibilities listed is essential.
