Join us on an exciting journey to enhance our handling of Non-Financial risk, empowering our team to take end-to-end accountability. We seek a leader to develop a Conduct & Compliance Risk centre of excellence within our Business and Commercial Banking team, supporting robust risk management aligned with the Group’s ERMF. The role involves providing thought leadership, oversight, and developing risk policies to meet customer, regulatory, and strategic outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead the Business and Commercial Banking Conduct & Compliance Risk team, building external partnerships.
2. Oversee compliance with UK regulations affecting BCB & CIB, focusing on product regulations.
3. Create oversight plans and deliver opinions on compliance and regulatory obligations.
4. Collaborate with Risk and Control teams to provide expertise and support strategic outcomes.
5. Produce data and documentation for risk monitoring, reporting findings and deviations.
6. Support effective conduct and compliance data-led risk management, meeting stakeholder needs.
7. Investigate Conduct & Compliance Risk queries and escalate issues appropriately.
8. Manage actions on Risk events, breaches, and improve control environments.
9. Propose ideas to enhance team effectiveness and support implementation.
10. Embed Resetting Risk operating model and demonstrate proactive application of RAPID and growth mindset.
What you’ll need
* Proven experience in Compliance Advisory roles within Financial Institutions, managing teams.
* Expertise in Business and Commercial Banking Conduct & Compliance Risk, especially product regulations (CMA, CONC, Consumer Duty, FLA).
* Knowledge of commercial lending, working capital, business loans, mortgages, and trade finance.
* Understanding of current Compliance frameworks and technology in financial and non-financial services.
* Ability to make timely, informed decisions and analyze complex data.
* Strong partnership, leadership, and mentoring skills aligned with Group Strategy.
