Advanced Diagnostics Ldt manufactures high-quality car key programming & diagnostic equipment specifically developed for locksmiths, and auto technicians worldwide.
AD develops all key programming software in-house.
Since 2014, Advanced Diagnostics is part of a 3B CHF worldwide top player in access solutions, the Swiss company dormakaba, listed on the Swiss Stock Exchange.
To the original worldwide AD division, now the product range includes also keys and key cutting machines with Silca brand (#1 leader in the specific keys manufacturing industry) to cover the local UK market, with an overall average turnover of 10M GBP and 30 staff members.
For our site in Nuneaton, we are looking for an Application Engineer.
The role of the Application Engineer is to provide regional technical support for the range of Advanced Diagnostics/Silca Automotive Key products.
You will be expected to support the Engineering teams based in the United Kingdom, along with technical support directly with distributors and customers.
Your main responsibilities:
New Development Support
To support the engineering teams in the development of new hardware and software products. This will include the following activities:
* Identifying the source of Diagnostic Tools.
* The logging of the Diagnostic Tools and vehicle communications.
* Detailed On-Vehicle testing of products and software.
* Disassembly and Reassembly of vehicles.
* The compilation of application lists relevant to new products.
* Production of any training material (inc. videos & Photos) required.
* Generate and maintain contacts within the automotive industry.
Product Technical Support
To provide regional front line technical customer support on the full product range. To investigate and confirm any product related issues and to provide appropriate reports and data logs to the engineering team.
Product Training and Development
To develop customer training material for new automotive products.
Attend distributor events and provide product support / training for regional shows.
Requirements:
* A Diploma as Automotive Engineer or equivalent qualification.
* Experience in automotive diagnostics or auto electrician.
* Good understanding of a vehicle's systems architecture.
* Good understanding of Automotive communication standards (ISO9141, CAN, etc.)
* Previous experience in Automotive locksmith industry would be beneficial.
* Use of vehicle logging tools (e.g Vehicle Spy, CANcaseXL or equivalent) would be beneficial.
* Good knowledge of PC’s including word processing tools and spreadsheets (MS Office Word, Excel etc.)
* Proficient in English both oral and written.
* Full UK driving licence.
