Project Planner Construction Contractor - New Build & Joinery
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 per annum
We are a Principal contractor based in the Northwest, looking to recruit a Project Planner to be based full time on a £14 million project in St Annes.
About the role of Project Planner
You will be an instrumental member of our pre-construction team and be heavily involved in the completion of this £14 million project in St Annes. This project includes multiple packages such as; New Build Extension, Fitout, Refurbishment, Demolition, and Conversion. Following the completion of this site, there is an opportunity to relocate to our head office in Blackpool.
Responsibilities for Project Planner
1. Preparation of design, procurement, and construction programmes using Microsoft Project
2. Identifying and selecting the appropriate techniques and sequence of events
3. Analyzing the local environment to determine suitable logistics solutions and resources
4. Preparing logistics plans and phasing layouts
5. Preparing detailed working programmes
6. Agreeing subcontractor trade programmes
7. Monitoring progress throughout the construction process; and comparing this with the projected schedule of work
8. Reporting findings and recommending solutions to recover delays
9. Recording relevant events for potential entitlement claims
10. Liaising with and supporting the rest of the Project Team throughout the process; making adjustments to project plans as necessary
11. Preparing project and activity feedback reports
12. Liaising with and coordinating trade contractor programmes on site
Requirements for Project Planner
Essential:
1. Minimum 1-2 years of previous experience planning for UK-based construction projects, in the environment of project delivery
2. Experienced and confident in using MS Project & Excel (along with other MS Office applications)
3. Minimum HNC qualification
Desirable:
1. Good understanding of high-quality finishes and M&E interfaces
2. Good communication skills and the ability to work within a team environment or independently
3. Good understanding of construction techniques, sequencing, and methodology
4. Good reporting skills and the ability to deal directly with the client's representatives
What we offer for Project Planner
£45,000 - £50,000 per annum base salary
