Sexual Offence Examiner - Bransford/Telford SARC

The role of SOE is critical in providing victims of sexual assault with the dedicated support and care required. We're seeking caring and compassionate RNs, Midwives, RMNs, or Paramedics to join us as Sexual Offence Examiners to provide holistic care and support to victims of sexual assault.
As a Sexual Offence Examiner, you'll receive comprehensive training and support to become a qualified Forensic Practitioner, with opportunities for further higher education after one year in-post.
Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities will include:
* Conducting forensic examinations and obtaining forensic exhibits.
* Developing forensic strategies according to FFLM guidelines.
* Collaborating with external MDTs and Police.
* Serving as the first point of contact for victims, Police, and Social Services regarding referral pathways.
* Managing and promoting the self-referral pathway.
* Undertaking holistic assessments including sexual health, mental health, and safeguarding.
* Supporting quality improvement initiatives within the service.
* Working in accordance with the Forensic Science Regulator requirements.
* Obtaining consent for health and forensic procedures.

Job responsibilities
Location: The Glade SARC, Bransford, Worcestershire, and Telford, Shropshire.
Salary: £20.17 per hour.
Position: Full-Time - 40 hours per week.
Hours: Rota basis covering 24/7, 365 days per year.
Shift Rate: £161.36 per 8-hour shift.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Full NMC/HCP registration; qualified nurse, midwife, or paramedic.
* Female applicants only, under the genuine occupational qualification exception (Sex Discrimination Act).
* UK driving license and access to a vehicle required.
* Advanced DBS and police vetting required.
Experience
* Minimum 3 years in A&E or acute care plus relevant post-qualification experience.
* Knowledge of safeguarding, confidentiality, and working with vulnerable populations.
* Experience working autonomously and with victims of sexual assault.
* Flexibility to work across sites and on call.
* Experience in forensic procedures preferred.

This role is subject to a disclosure check under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, requiring submission to the DBS for any criminal convictions.
