Responsibilities
* Manage and develop a high-performing Network Operations team
* Create a culture of continuous improvement, ownership, and collaboration
* Own the Network Estate
* Take full responsibility for a large-scale Cisco Meraki environment (MX, MS, MR)
* Drive performance, resilience, and scalability across all services
* Lead network upgrades, deployments, and lifecycle management
* Deliver Modern Connectivity
* Shape and support hybrid cloud networking in Azure
* Oversee WAN, LAN, VPN, SD-WAN, and wireless environments
* Ensure seamless connectivity across a geographically distributed estate
* Drive Innovation & Automation
* Introduce and expand automation (PowerShell / Python)
* Reduce manual effort and improve operational consistency
* Move towards infrastructure-as-code principles
* Strengthen Security & Compliance
* Work closely with security teams on Cyber Essentials Plus & ISO 27001
* Oversee firewalls, IDS/IPS, segmentation, and secure access controls
* Support audits, risk management, and incident response
* Lead Key Projects
* Own technical delivery of network projects including:
o Site deployments
o Connectivity transformations
o Telephony rollouts (VoIP/SIP)
o Platform enhancements
Qualifications
* Strong leadership experience managing technical teams
* Proven background in enterprise networking (multi-site environments)
* Deep expertise in Cisco Meraki (essential)
* Experience with Azure networking and hybrid environments
* Solid knowledge of network security, SD-WAN, VPNs, and routing/switching
* Exposure to automation tools and scripting
* Ability to deliver complex infrastructure projects end-to-end
* Certifications such as CCNP, Meraki, or Azure Network Engineer are a bonus - but practical experience matters most.
