Overview
Role: Materials Management Coordinator at Brigham and Women's Hospital.
The Mass General Brigham system seeks qualified professionals to advance patient care, research, teaching, and community service. This role focuses on inventory management and purchasing of raw materials and supplies within the Materials Management department.
Job Summary
Preferred work days: Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.
Responsibilities
* Maintains optimum inventory levels to ensure on-time deliveries to meet customer requirements
* Continuing programs of exploration for new materials, suppliers, and processes to achieve the best possible quality, reliability, prices, continuity, and delivery
* Establishes procedures and supervises the annual physical inventory
* Interfaces with product line coordinators on the planning and forecasting of customer orders to meet shipments
* Maintains relationships and negotiates with suppliers
* Purchases supplies and materials according to specifications
* Ensures that the company standard practices and procedures are followed in connection with all materials department functions
Qualifications
* Education: Bachelor's Degree Materials Engineering preferred; experience in lieu of degree accepted.
* Experience: Directly related experience 2-3 years required.
* Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
o Ability to lead team members
o Customer service-oriented
o Familiarity with supply chain and inventory management systems
o Knowledgeable in forecasting and budgeting
o Ability to solve problems swiftly
o Working knowledge of SAP MM
o Excellent organizational and leadership skills
o Proficient in Microsoft Office
o In-depth knowledge of supply chain and inventory management systems
o Hands-on experience with forecasting and budgeting
o Analytical thinking and problem solving aptitude
o Outstanding communication and leadership skills
