About the Role East Kent Colleges Group (EKC Group) has grown rapidly in recent years, and we’re now inviting motivated individuals from diverse backgrounds to join our Governing Body and Local College Boards (LCBs). If you’re passionate about Further Education and committed to enhancing the social and economic wellbeing of local communities, we’d love to hear from you. Governors and LCB members play a critical role in maintaining the Group’s resilience, innovation, and excellence. As part of a balanced team, you’ll provide external insights, challenge assumptions, and help shape strategic direction. You’ll bring enthusiasm, skills, and experience from other areas of life to support senior leadership and ensure the Group delivers high-quality outcomes. Time commitments vary depending on the board’s activities. Involvement may include attending meetings, strategic planning, training, conferences, award ceremonies, and community events.
