An exciting opportunity to join our CAMHS Crisis Plus Service based at the Leicester Royal Infirmary. The post holder will assess and follow up on young people and children who attend in a mental health crisis and present with complex and challenging needs. This post is for a full-time permanent or a full-time 6-month Fixed Term Contract or Secondment.
The service has been developed in order to meet the needs of an increasing number of referrals for this significantly complex patient group of children and young people and their families, who may seek support from emergency services and/or attend A&E and are unable to return home in the absence of immediate support. The candidate will need to have a strong understanding and knowledge of social care principles regarding LAC and would feel confident to facilitate and attend strategy and multi-agency meetings regarding the welfare of the child to aid smooth transition and discharge from hospital.
Responsibilities:
* Assess child or young person presenting as suicidal or in a mental health crisis.
* Ensure high-quality clinical practice in the management and treatment of high-risk complex cases.
* Provide consultation support and advice to paediatric wards in respect of managing complex young people.
* To co-ordinate and facilitate meetings with other service providers regarding the care of the young person.
* To be responsible for band 6 practitioners working with the crisis plus team and ensure they are able to achieve positive outcomes for young people and their families.
* Actively participate in service development.
* Can work under pressure.
* Have experience in clinical and managerial supervision.
* Be able to offer and demonstrate therapeutic interventions that are suitable for young people.
* Work within the CAMHS Crisis Home Treatment Team.
This will be a 24-hour, seven days a week service, including Bank Holidays and staff will be required to participate fully in the 24-hour rota.
We are looking for a forward-thinking creative practitioner, who is young person and family-centred. It would be desirable if they have experience of working within CAMHS or with a crisis team.
