King Edward VI College, Stourbridge is a sixth form college and a member of the Heart of Mercia Trust. As A level specialists, we provide a deep and thorough academic curriculum and help our students to develop excellent independent study skills. Just as important is our broader development curriculum, with almost 100 different clubs, groups and activities operating on a weekly basis, and excellent preparation for careers and HE. We require a part-time (22.5 hours per week) Sports Coordinator to start 27 August 2025. The Sports Coordinator role will plan, coordinate, and deliver a comprehensive sports enrichment programme that promotes physical activity, teamwork, and personal development. This includes managing the organisation of sports activities, overseeing logistics, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, and evaluating the effectiveness of provision. The post-holder will also lead and facilitate sessions to ensure high levels of student participation and engagement. The role supports the development of students’ physical skills, leadership, and wellbeing in line with the college’s broader enrichment goals. The College is fully committed to supporting all members of staff through staff development and in-service training. This is a permanent, part-time (22.5 hours per week), term-time only post subject to the conditions of service handbook of the Sixth Form Colleges Association. Salary will be paid on the Sixth Form Colleges Association support staff pay scale 11 - 15 which is currently £14,156.08 – £15,918.65 per annum for term-time only, based on 22.5 hours per week. There will be a requirement to work a Wednesday due to a number of sports fixtures taking place. There is some flexibility on how the other hours can be worked across the week and this would be discussed at interview. Some flexibility around working hours will be expected e.g. a willingness to attend residential events and fixtures that may occur outside of standard college hours.
