Catastrophe Risk Manager – Cyber

The Catastrophe Risk Centre of Excellence (COE) focus on the identification, quantification and control of risks from natural and man-made sources.Furthermore, the COE works to provide central risk oversight and define aggregation limits for the division and cascade them down to the appropriate business units.
Our team responsibilities include:
1. Risk capacity budgeting and allocations.
2. Interpretation of risk modelling and risk evaluation.
3. Delivering portfolio, segment and divisional risk aggregations and risk reporting.
4. Facilitating reviews of portfolio PML’s, risk drivers & concentrations.
You will be working in a global team responsible for the risk management across the AXA XL division supporting Legal entity reporting, various stakeholders across the wider organisation, management of the internal modelling best practices, as well as assisting in regulatory requests

The primary purpose of the role is to lead and develop our assessment and modelling of Cyber Catastrophe risk and how that risk could materialise within our underwriting portfolio. This role’s key responsibilities will be:
5. Manage the assessment of Cyber Catastrophe Risk from all lines of business, with a focus on the direct Cyber lines. This will require leveraging internal and external data and assist in creating best practices and tools for data capture, risk selection, scenario testing and portfolio modelling.
6. Create internal best practices related to Cyber Catastrophe modelling, including development and quantification of Realistic Disaster Scenarios, and modelling of Cyber Catastrophe risk by leveraging internal and external models.
7. Develop the Cyber data collection framework across the organisation to better understand the full picture of cyber exposure across all business lines.
8. Enhance reporting of Cyber risk management, further embedding modelling and exposure reporting into the wider risk management framework.
9. Lead the delivery of regulatory requirements for Cyber risk management across all AXA XL entities worldwide. This will include RDS analysis and exposure reporting for established regulatory returns as well as ad-hoc requests.
10. Lead the Risk Appetite processes across insurance and reinsurance segments supporting underwriting strategy and capacity allocation decisions.
11. Contribute to the AXA Cyber Ambition by playing a key influencing role in the development of the go-forward strategy for managing Cyber risk across AXA Group.
12. Work both autonomously and as part of a wider geographically disperse team, to find solutions to modelling and data challenges.
13. Present to senior management and key stakeholders.
14. Develop relationships within and outside the Group to improve our understanding of Cyber risk.
15. Participate in event response activities, by helping to break down a real event into a simple model to run against our insured portfolio.
16. Help to reinforce a culture of Cyber risk awareness throughout the organisation.
You will report to Head of Reporting, Casualty and Cyber Risk Management.

We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:
17. Experience using Cyber vendor models
18. Understanding and experience completing Cyber regulatory returns
19. Comfortable with statistics and probability theory
20. Knowledge of commercial lines insurance products and the insurance industry, including regulatory framework
21. Understanding of business operations, particularly regarding navigating a large corporation or identifying key stakeholders and their needs
22. An ability to extract insight out of data – but also through discussions with experts
23. You must be driven and able to work on your own when needed
24. Ability to collaborate with audiences with a wide range of technical knowledge and at different levels on an organisational hierarchy
25. A self-motivated problem solver with a robust attention to detail and ability to work independently
26. A highly organized individual with a proven track of working under time pressure
27. Team player with a proven ability to partner with business partners and manage key relationships
28. Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate with and present to senior leaders
