NPD Manager – Job Description\nReporting to: R&D Manager\nLocation: Winchester\nDepartment: R&D\n\nPurpose\n\nThe purpose of this role is to help deliver the company’s mission by:\n\n * \n\n Creating a great place to work\n\n * \n\n Bringing delight to customers through innovative product development\n\n * \n\n Supporting positive contributions to both local and global communities\n\n * \n\n Sourcing ingredients ethically\n\n * \n\n Operating sustainably\n\nRole Overview\n\nAs NPD Manager, you will play a key role in developing and improving products, managing NPD and EPD projects from concept through to launch. You will lead the day-to-day delivery of development activity, coordinate cross-functional collaboration, and contribute to continuous improvement across processes and procedures.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nHealth & Safety\n\n * \n\n Comply with all Health & Safety legislation and internal procedures relevant to the role\n\n * \n\n Identify and report any issues or concerns\n\nProduct Development\n\n * \n\n Lead and manage NPD and EPD projects in line with agreed processes and timelines\n\n * \n\n Develop new products from concept to production, including recipe formulation and improvements\n\n * \n\n Source raw materials and gather relevant information (pricing, specifications, supplier accreditation, etc.)\n\n * \n\n Conduct trials, create process specs, and generate sensory and technical reports\n\n * \n\n Carry out costings and theoretical nutrition calculations during development\n\n * \n\n Coordinate and communicate with Technical, QA, Supply Chain, Production, and Marketing functions\n\n * \n\n Maintain accurate project folders and documentation, including trial records and gate approvals\n\n * \n\n Ensure kitchen is well-maintained and equipment is used safely and efficiently\n\n * \n\n Conduct product tests such as heat shock, melting resistance, and scoopability, and compile results\n\n * \n\n Optimise production processes and provide support to manufacturing teams where needed\n\nGeneral Responsibilities\n\n * \n\n Promote and uphold the company’s servant leadership values\n\n * \n\n Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation within the R&D team\n\n * \n\n Work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders\n\n * \n\n Communicate clearly via email, phone, and meetings\n\n * \n\n Share knowledge and celebrate best practices and high performance\n\nValues & Culture\n\nThe company promotes a culture based on servant leadership.
