The Company

A leading plastic products design and engineering company for packaging and non-packaging applications, the company continues to be run by third generation family members and are committed to strengthening and supporting its ambitious, continued expansion and exciting new product development plans, to enable the company to achieve even greater levels of success and dominance in its specialist markets.

Manufactures a wide range of Home and Office, Garden and Baby products for both the UK and worldwide markets and is one of the major suppliers of watering cans, water butts, compost bins, decorative planters and growing accessories in the UK. As well as manufacturing a large range of robust and attractive storage boxes for the home and office, including a variety of flexi tubs and baskets in different colours and sizes.

All product development is carried out in-house. product development programme is on-going and the Company's extensive market knowledge is incorporated into this process. As well as developing products for the general market, they also undertakes development of product that is customer specific and uses bespoke treatments for private label customers.

The Position

National Account Executive

Reporting To

Sales & Marketing Director

Location

Home based (travel to Nottinghamshire at least 2 days a week will be a requirement)

Job Purpose

* To establish strong working relationships with Category Buyers within allocated National Accounts, in order to maximise revenue through the expansion of product categories/listings, promotions and new product introductions.

* To deliver and manage sales and business strategies, for ensuring profitable volume growth, developing and executing negotiations and contracts as opportunities arise.

* To develop and support the customer with effective key account strategies across the supply chain process in order to deliver exceptional customer service levels.

* A small amount of new business development into other potential new national accounts.

* Support the Sales Director and CEO on everyday management of National Accounts

Departmental Interfaces/Relationships

Internal – Reporting to the Sales and Marketing Director and forming part of a small team of 3 Senior National Account Managers, the appointee will develop effective working relationships with the production plant, customer service and supply chain functions to ensure high levels of customer service.

External – He/she will be expected to develop strong business relationships with multi-level contacts within customer accounts – Purchasing/Category Buyers, Supply Chain Managers, Marketeers etc.

Role Objectives

* To undertake an in-depth familiarisation programme to include the Group, the Division, the company, its philosophies, lines of contact, products, customers, business and operating processes and procedures, personalities, corporate plans and objectives, management and information styles.

* To deliver profitable growth within allocated customers, both organically and by pursuing new business development opportunities within allocated National Accounts.

* To provide regular market intelligence, customer information and analysis in order to identify new opportunities both for the expansion of product categories and listings, promotional activity and the development of new products.

* To provide visit reports (particularly in the first year) to the Sales & Marketing Director with relevant account information as required.

* To effectively manage the day to day running of the National Accounts, including maintaining and upholding key agreements and reviewing and challenging commercial standing, where appropriate.

* To liaise with the Supply Chain and Customer Service team to ensure that excellent Customer Service levels are constantly maintained.

* To be seen as making a positive contribution, both internally, and externally, with the customer base and to ensure any agreed action is carried out quickly and effectively.

* To ensure the targeted, year on year growth, of the designated accounts.

Candidate Profile

Self-motivated, commercially focused and results driven, candidates will have a proven sales background, maybe at Account Manager/Key Account Manager or Business Development Manager level and be able to demonstrate achievements in supporting the profitable growth of £multi-million p.a. key accounts. This experience will ideally have been gained in a housewares, DIY or garden products environment. There are excellent opportunities for progression within this business.
