Why This Role?
This is not just a standard classroom support role. It is a chance to safeguard and guide vulnerable pupils while helping them make safer, positive choices for their futures.
You will be supporting primary-aged pupils (5–11) who may be at risk of:
1. County Lines exploitation
2. Gang involvement
3. Social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges including ADHD, trauma and anxiety
You will be the mentor, role model and trusted adult they need.
What You Will Do
4. Build positive, trusting relationships with young people
5. Support emotional regulation and encourage resilience
6. Prevent involvement in criminal exploitation through restorative approaches
7. Work in small class sizes (4–12 pupils) for maximum impact
What We Are Looking For
8. Graduates in Criminology, Psychology, Youth Work or similar subjects (relevant experience also welcome)
9. A genuine commitment to safeguarding vulnerable young people
10. Patience, empathy and resilience when managing challenging behaviour
11. Any prior experience supporting at-risk youth is desirable, but not essential as training is provided
