What You’ll Own
* Client partnership: Act as the go-to payroll contact for clients, guiding them through onboarding, implementation, processing and ongoing support
* Processing: Manage the full payroll pipeline (from pre-sale through live), partner with Sales and CS, and own client payroll calendars
* Bureau management: Coordinate with our external payroll bureau to ensure accurate and timely processing for all client accounts
* Compliance & regulation: Keep payroll processes compliant with HMRC, PAYE, NI, pensions, holiday pay, and other regulations. Stay on top of legislative changes and drive updates internally
* Process improvement: Standardise workflows across clients, streamline for efficiency, and partner with Product/Engineering to help shape smarter payroll tools
* Internal expertise: Be the in-house payroll expert, answering queries and ensuring teams have the right documentation and guidance
What You’ll Bring
* Excellent knowledge of UK & Ireland payroll legislation; US payroll knowledge is a plus
* Experience in client-facing payroll roles, ideally within a bureau or agency setup
* Confidence with payroll systems, HMRC submissions, BACS, Auto Enrolment, P11Ds, and payroll journals
* Solid Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel
* Organisational skills and attention to detail - you thrive when juggling multiple client deadlines
* Clear, confident communicator who can work across clients, third parties, and internal teams
* A sense of ownership: when you spot a problem, you fix it
* Startup mindset: proactive, resourceful, and comfortable wearing many hats
