Harrogate College delivers GCSE and Functional Skills qualifications to 16-18 learners, adults and apprentices.If you're looking for your next challenge we welcome your application, whether you're an experienced or newly qualified English teachers.This is a part-time role (18.5 hours per week).What You Will DoDeliver and assess essential knowledge and understanding to learners for GCSE English.Be responsible for recording student progress, motivate and inspire students to achieve targets and develop their skills to enable progression.Reflect on what works best in teaching and learning to meet the diverse needs of students.Adapt curriculum delivery methods to maximise their effectiveness, including through the use of technology.Plan, prepare and develop effective schemes of work, lesson plans, teaching and learning resources including the development of online learning resources for identified modules.Deliver inspiring sessions across the curriculum using a wide range of teaching methods for identified modules.Develop and employ effective assessment activities for identified modules.Assess student work, provide constructive and timely feedback to motivate and inspire the learner to improve and record learners’ progress for identified modules.About YouHonours Degree in English or a relevant subject.Relevant experience in teaching GCSE to 16-18 year-olds. You will also hold or be working towards a Level 5 recognised teaching qualification.A proven ability to set ambitious student targets and possess the strategies and skills to effectively help all students achieve their full potential.
