Summary of Role:
Join Nidec Drives R&D as a Senior Power Electronics Engineer. Report to the Product Development Manager, responsible for designing, developing, and implementing power electronics and auxiliary circuits.
This includes component evaluation, circuit analysis, simulations, thermal and mechanical design, and PCB review with manufacturing considerations.
Key Job Responsibilities:
* Have a solid understanding of power electronics.
* Create new designs, product specifications, and develop analogue, digital, and electronic circuits/systems.
* Ensure designs meet functional requirements and comply with EMC and Safety standards.
* Interface with external suppliers and participate in product design reviews.
* Manage type test meetings and develop test equipment.
* Prepare technical documentation and reports, and present design concepts.
* Contribute to technical reviews and critique designs constructively.
* Guide and support other Development Engineers.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
* Masters Degree (MEng) in Power Electronics.
* Proven engineering experience.
* Understanding of power electronic devices, topologies, and control systems.
* Experience with simulation tools (e.g., PLECS, Saber, Simetrix, Pspice, MATLAB Simulink).
* Interest in emerging technologies and innovation.
* Knowledge of planning tools and theories.
* Chartered Engineer status (desirable).
