Information about the Role
The role holders will be responsible for providing day-to-day support and guidance on Business cases and Assurance across the P3O environment, ensuring alignment with the Assurance Strategy. The AST Lead will provide independent assurance of Projects, Programmes, and the wider Portfolio, reporting directly to the Head of Assurance and Standards. Responsibilities include ensuring Projects and Programmes are viable from initiation through their lifecycle, covering leadership, quality, financial, information management, risk, governance, benefits, and resource management, while adhering to standards set across the Counter Terrorism Policing Headquarters (CTPHQ) portfolio and wider UK Government.
Responsibilities
* Implement and adhere to a risk-based, integrated Assurance Strategy.
* Drive continuous improvement and innovation in CTP’s Assurance capability, ensuring compliance with standards and best practices.
* Assure Portfolio, Programme, and Project delivery across CTP’s Change Portfolio, including projects and programmes with a whole life cost exceeding £100m.
* Support strategic relationships with the Cabinet Office’s Infrastructure and Project Authority and represent the Assurance and Standards Function as the Deputy Departmental Assurance Coordinator (DAC) at the National DAC Forum.
* Ensure methodologies are correctly implemented and provide training and development across CTP, aligning with Assurance and Standards responsibilities.
* Collaborate closely with the CTP Portfolio Office, Business Design, and the PPM Profession to develop the Centre of Excellence, focusing on Assurance, Information Management, SRO development, and Lessons Learned.
