Rugbytots Midlothian offers fun, structured, rugby-inspired play sessions for children aged 2–7, fostering confidence, coordination, and teamwork through active play. As part of Rugbytots, the world’s leading rugby play program impacting over 85,000 children weekly in 22 countries, we are committed to supporting local communities in Midlothian. We operate weekly sessions in Bonnyrigg, Penicuik, and Dalkeith, making every class inclusive, energetic, and enjoyable for young participants. Guided by the Rugbytots ethos to "make everything more fun," our sessions focus on developing essential skills such as catching, passing, kicking, teamwork, and movement skills that are vital both on and off the field.
Role Description
This is a part-time on-site role for a Lead Rugbytots Coach for weekend sessions, located in Bonnyrigg, Penicuik and Dalkeith. The Lead Coach will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging rugby-inspired play sessions for children. The role involves ensuring a safe, inclusive, and fun environment while modeling energetic and confident coaching. Responsibilities include setting up and packing down equipment, managing group activities, supporting assistant coaches, and maintaining positive relationships with parents and children.
Qualifications
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with children, parents, and team members
* Experience in coaching, sports instruction, or working with young children in an educational or recreational setting
* Basic knowledge of rugby or other team sports is beneficial but not essential
* Organization and time-management skills for coordinating classes and managing schedules
* A positive, energetic, and patient demeanor with the ability to inspire and encourage children
* First Aid training or willingness to acquire this certification
* A valid driver’s license and access to transportation to commute to class locations
* PVG Scheme Membership (or willingness to obtain one) is required
