The H. Lavity Stoutt Community College, located in the British Virgin Islands (“the BVI”) is seeking an exceptional full-time Physics and Mathematics Lecturer to teach in the Mathematics and Sciences Department. The Lecturer must be able to comfortably instruct in at least four (4) of the listed courses and have a deep understanding of the subject matter. Courses: General Physics I and II Mathematics for Business Technical Mathematics Trigonometry Introduction to Statistics College Algebra I and II Duties and Responsibilities Perform instructional related responsibilities in a timely manner and in accordance with the mission, vision, policies and procedures of the College; Provide a quality learning experience for all students; Teach five courses (15-17 credit hours) per semester; Teach day, evening, weekend and/or online courses at assigned campus/centre. May be assigned to teach courses at more than one location; Serve as an academic advisor to students Assist in the marketing of the Department's programmes and recruitment of students; Actively participate in Department or College Committees. Qualifications and Experience An earned doctoral degree in relevant discipline from an accredited or recognized institution, and a minimum of four (4) years of teaching or other academic experience with evidence of continuing scholarship. OR A master’s degree or its equivalent in relevant discipline from an accredited or recognized institution and seven (7) years of successful teaching or other academic experience as a Lecturer, and evidence of continuing scholarship. Mentorship and Coaching: must have the ability to mentor and guide students in their professional development. Technological Proficiency: familiarity with educational technology and digital tools to enhance learning and must have competence in delivering instructions in both in-person and the virtual environment. Leadership and Advocacy: skills in working collaboratively with colleagues and external entities. Must be a visionary leader.
