An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Sandwell School Health Nursing Service. We are seeking highly motivated, committed, and innovative nurses with a desire to make a difference to children and young people, working within the public health agenda.
As a Student School Nurse, you will undergo training to complete the BSC (Hons) Degree in Community Health (Specialist Practitioner award in School Nursing). This involves liaising with relevant parties within the practice area and at the University to achieve a 50% theory and 50% practical course split. To successfully complete the course, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team within the School Nursing Service, carrying out clinical duties with patients/clients as agreed with your Lead Nurse for development and training.
Sandwell School Health Nurses aim to deliver visible and accessible services to the school-aged population of Sandwell, providing universal public health services and ensuring early help and extra support are available when children and young people need it.
The team comprises a mix of roles, including admin officers, support workers, staff nurses, and specialist practitioners.
