As a Cargo Operative apprentice, you will gain a thorough understanding of the wider port operations and receive high quality training on a range of mechanical plant equipment and machinery. You'll gain insights into our port assets and develop a deep understanding of health and safety policies and procedures. By the end of the programme, you'll emerge as a fully trained port operative ready to excel in your career.

What are we looking for?
Functional Skills Level 2 English & Maths (GCSE Grade 4 and above or equivalent) OR you will need to achieve a Functional Skills Level 2 in both subjects as part of the apprenticeship programme
Individuals who are able to demonstrate a genuine interest in the work that we do at the port, and are looking to build valuable skills for your future career
Ability to work effectively with colleagues in a fast-paced, safety-critical environment
Full UK working rights
UK driving licence required

What is the Application Process?

Screening call: If your application is of interest, our Talent Acquisition team will be in touch for an initial discussion, answer any questions that you may have and invite you to the assessment centre.
Confirmation email: We will share an email to confirm what to expect at the assessment centre, anything that you need to prepare and what to bring on the day.
Assessment Day:This will take place on Monday 28th July. You meet the team and get a great feel for why Forth Ports is for you!
