Prospero Teaching is seeking a confident and knowledgeable SEN Teaching Assistant to work in Congleton. The role is full-time, starting in September, and will continue for a full academic year.
The school has a supportive staff team dedicated to providing children with an inspiring and broad educational experience. Children are encouraged to be independent learners through a variety of learning and play opportunities. The successful candidate will provide specific support for one child with additional needs, potentially including autism, although undiagnosed due to the child's age. The role also involves working with groups and individuals on learning, play, and craft activities, contributing to the daily running of the classroom, resource creation, assessments, and behaviour management.
This role will involve:
1. Providing targeted support and interventions across all curriculum areas.
2. Leading groups in activities within core curriculum areas such as Phonics, Reading, Maths, and Writing.
3. Working with individuals on learning and development activities.
4. Preparing resources and maintaining areas within the setting.
5. Carrying out assessments and recording data.
6. Supporting daily routines for children.
7. Engaging children in a range of learning and play activities, both indoors and outdoors.

Experience, training, and qualifications:
* Previous experience working in a UK primary school.
* Supporting in Early Years, Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (Minimum Level 2), Education Studies Degree, Psychology Degree, or similar qualifications.
* Up-to-date Safeguarding and Prevent training within the last 12 months – free online Safeguarding training with Prospero is available if needed.
Eligibility requirements with Prospero Teaching:
* Hold the Right to Work in the UK.
* Possess an Enhanced DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to apply for a new one at the cost of £.
* Provide two professional references from the past 2 years.
