Job Description
Small Glasgow-based consultancy looking for a Geotechnical Engineer with around 1 year of experience. The role will involve a mix of Phase 1 & Phase 2 site investigations, reporting, and hands-on site work.
Key Responsibilities
* Undertaking Phase 1 Preliminary Risk Assessments (PRAs) including desk studies and site walkovers
* Planning and supervising Phase 2 Ground Investigations
* Logging soils and rock to BS5930 standards
* Coordinating and supervising trial pits, boreholes, and in-situ testing
* Liaising with subcontract drillers and laboratory teams
* Factual and interpretative report writing
* Basic geotechnical design input (foundations, earthworks, etc.)
* Client and contractor communication
Requirements
* Experience delivering Phase 1 and Phase 2 investigations
* Strong soil logging and site supervision experience
* Full UK driving licence
* Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology, or Civil Engineering
* Good report writing skills
Desirable
* Experience working in Scotland
* Working knowledge of Eurocodes
* Ambition to progress toward chartership (ICE or Geological Society)
