Nile Inc. — Technical Partner / Lead Engineer (Path to Chief Engineer)
Location: Remote
Employment Type: Part-Time (Pathway to Full-Time)
Compensation: Combination of hourly fee and equity options during early phases
Industry: Advanced Mobility • Aerospace • CleanTech • AI Systems
I. Company Overview
Nile Inc. is a visionary startup developing the concept of the world’s first luxury hybrid flying supercar with vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) capabilities.
This next-generation vehicle integrates hydrogen-electric propulsion, AI-assisted flight systems, and a regenerative energy architecture. Its design philosophy merges aerospace engineering, art, and sustainability into a single concept that redefines the future of personal mobility.
Nile is currently in the concept validation and theoretical development stage, refining the propulsion model, aerodynamic configuration, and energy management system through simulation frameworks and academic collaboration. The company is now assembling its founding engineering team to transition into early-stage prototyping and investor engagement.
Our mission is to redefine the limits of sustainable motion — creating a vehicle that is as intelligent as it is inspiring.
II. Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Mechanical or Aerospace Engineer (Founding Partner Track) to drive the early development and simulation of the Nile Tuttankhamon.
The position will start as a part-time or freelance collaboration (10–20 hrs/week) and evolve into a Chief Engineer role as technical capacity and funding expand.
This is a founder-track opportunity for an engineer deeply passionate about advanced mobility, hybrid propulsion, and sustainable aerospace design — someone eager to shape both the technology and the future organization behind it.
III. Technical Context & Challenges
Nile presents a series of cutting-edge engineering challenges:
* Designing a hydrogen-electric hybrid propulsion system capable of both VTOL and sustained horizontal flight.
* Achieving thermal and structural stability within an ultra-light composite chassis.
* Integrating AI-driven flight control, sensor fusion, and regenerative energy systems within a unified aerodynamic body.
The Lead Engineer will be at the centre of these challenges — transforming simulation frameworks and theoretical models into tangible, certifiable engineering solutions that define the foundation of Nile’s future products.
IV. Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Partner / Lead Engineer
* Design and validate the 1:4 prototype, leading the full engineering cycle — from concept design, CAD modelling, and FEA/CFD simulations to performance validation.
* Develop and document key subsystems, including propulsion layout, electrical distribution, thermal management, and flight-stability control.
* Run simulations and analyses (structural, aerodynamic, and thermal) to verify performance targets and identify optimisation opportunities.
* Produce and maintain technical documentation, design specifications, test plans, and engineering reports aligned with pre-certification standards.
* Establish early IP records and ensure technical traceability for future FAA/EASA pre-compliance processes.
* Collaborate with suppliers and research partners on materials, testing setups, and prototype assembly methods.
* Contribute strategically to R&D planning, technical recruitment, and the roadmap toward the full-scale 1:1 prototype.
Compensation: Fixed monthly fee + equity options.
V. Candidate ProfileRequired Technical Qualifications
* Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or Robotics Engineering (PhD is a plus).
* Experience: Minimum 10 years of progressive engineering experience in aerospace, eVTOL, or hybrid automotive systems.
* Industry Expertise: Strong understanding of propulsion systems, flight control, and structural design.
* Specialised Skills:
-Hands-on CFD / FEA simulation experience (SimScale, Ansys, or equivalent).
- Familiarity with FAA / EASA certification or compliance frameworks.
- Experience with hybrid powertrain integration.
- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, CATIA, or Fusion 360).
- Understanding of embedded systems, sensors, and AI-assisted flight control.
VI. Leadership & Strategic Competencies
* Founder-level mindset with ownership and accountability.
* Ability to translate visionary concepts into working technology.
* Strong leadership and mentoring potential for future multidisciplinary teams.
* Excellent communication and documentation skills for both technical and investor audiences.
* Capable of managing risk, innovation, and technical prioritization during rapid growth phases.
VII. Work Environment
* Fully remote during the concept and simulation phase.
* Transition to hybrid or on-site leadership as prototype fabrication begins.
* Regular collaboration with universities, simulation partners, and suppliers across Europe and Asia.
VIII. Culture & Vision
At Nile, we believe innovation is poetry in motion.
We are not just building a vehicle — we are reshaping humanity’s relationship with the sky.
We seek engineers who are not only skilled but visionary — those who find beauty in precision, purpose in design, and inspiration in redefining what’s possible.
