Your new school is a large secondary school with a sixth form located in East Lancashire. The school is coeducational and caters for pupils aged 11-18. The school has established an excellent reputation in the localmunity and there is an extremely supportive senior leadership team throughout the school with a clear vision towards achieving outstanding. In addition to the above, the school offers state of the art facilities and has excellent transport links.
Your new role
Joining a high achieving department, you will be responsible for teaching English to KS5. The role is tomence from January 2026 and will operate, full time, on a temporary basis covering a maternity absence. As the role is long term, you will be required to plan and prepare all lessons whilst differentiating in pupil ability. You will also be required to mark and assess all work, ensuring that pupils are progressing in line with their target grades.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in securing this position, it is essential that you hold a teaching qualification such as QTS, QTLS or PGCE and have experience of teaching English to KS4. KS5 experience is advantageous but not essential. You must be able tomence the role from January 2026 and be able tomit to the full duration of the assignment.
