Job Title: Business Development Manager Location: North East Salary: Up to £40,000 basic OTE £65k | £4,000 car allowance | 28 days holiday A leading provider of bespoke commercial vehicle solutions is looking to appoint a Business Development Manager to help drive growth across the North East. Specialising in vehicle conversions and custom builds, this company delivers tailored solutions to a wide range of clients including housing associations, local authorities, and facilities management providers. In this role, you'll report directly to the Head of Sales and take ownership of new business development—focusing on building strong relationships and creating a robust, sustainable sales pipeline. You'll have the autonomy to manage your own customer base while working closely with internal teams to ensure a smooth sales and delivery process. Key Responsibilities: New Business : Source new opportunities through industry networking, lead generation, and market research. Client Management : Build and manage your own customer base, with a focus on the public and FM sectors. Sales Strategy : Develop call plans, attend client meetings, host site visits, and represent the business at networking events. Process Management : Ensure accuracy in documentation including specifications, end user details, and financial arrangements. Coordination : Work cross-functionally with internal teams to ensure smooth handover from sale to delivery. CRM Reporting : Use the CRM system to manage pipeline, track activity, and support accurate forecasting. About You: 3 years of experience in a BDM or field sales role, ideally selling into public sector, housing, or FM environments. Proven ability to identify opportunities and close deals. Confident communicator with strong negotiation and influencing skills. Able to manage multiple priorities with strong attention to detail. Comfortable working independently while collaborating with wider teams. Proficient with Microsoft Office and CRM software. Knowledge of commercial vehicles, conversions, or capital equipment is advantageous.
