We have a fantastic opportunity for an Accounts Payable Assistant to join our team based at Regent House, Stockport. This is a hybrid role requiring travel to the Stockport office once a week. The salary is up to £25,000 per annum. It is a full-time, 12-month Fixed Term Contract, working 7.5 hours a day, Monday to Friday. Shift details will be discussed at interview.
About the role:
Carry out financial and administrative duties to support Accounts Payable, including processing invoices and making payments to contractors and suppliers for goods and services, utilizing relevant purchasing, invoice, and other IT systems.
What you will bring to the role:
* Execute the full range of administrative and financial activities necessary for effective invoice processing and timely payments, using relevant systems and payment scheduling.
* Resolve issues and queries in line with policies and procedures, providing clear and supportive advice to suppliers and colleagues on Accounts Payable policies and IT system navigation.
* Provide analysis using Excel, ensuring data accuracy before submission to stakeholders.
* Ensure GL Hearn (business rates) invoices are processed and paid within SLA.
* Prepare journals for corrections using internal templates.
* Coordinate with vendor management for missing or inaccurate information to facilitate payments.
* Engage with contract holders regarding PFI and NHS PS invoice liabilities outside of contracts.
* Maintain and review system records for accuracy, investigate and resolve purchase order and invoice issues, escalating when necessary.
* Reconcile supplier statements with internal records, identify discrepancies, and support reporting on reconciliations.
* Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure efficient invoice processing and payment progression.
* Adhere to financial controls and internal processes, contributing to process improvements.
* Respond flexibly to work priority changes and support the overall operation of the service.
* Comply with data protection, health and safety policies, and statutory requirements.
