Leeds City College are recruiting for a Maths Teacher to join our team.
We are seeking a Maths Teacher to teach maths to adults in our community centres. Experience in functional skills and GCSE is essential. Our Adult provision was graded as Outstanding by Ofsted in May 2022. In 2023-24, there were over 5,000 students with a team of 200, bringing education and life-changing experiences to our students.
The team is based predominantly at the Enfield Centre, with 16-19 (sixth form) groups in North Street and smaller provisions at Beeston, Eastgate, Deacon House, and some outreach centres.
We teach Monday - Thursday from 09:30 to 21:00 and Fridays and Saturdays from 09:30 to15:00. Teaching up to two eveningsmay be required.
What You Will Do
* Plan, prepare and develop schemes of work, session plans, teaching and learning resources, learning and assessment plans.
* Deliver and assess essential knowledge and understanding to learners.
* Motivate and inspire students to achieve targets and develop their skills to enable progression.
* Develop and strengthen relationships with learners and provide support to ensure successful outcomes.
* Use and promote restorative practice approaches.
About You
* Holds a L5 Teaching Qualification (eg. Cert Ed, PGCE) or willing to work towards.
* Relevant highest level vocational qualification or degree in teaching subject.
* Relevant up to date subject knowledge and recent delivery in the Further Education or school sector.
* Experience of setting appropriate SMART targets to ensure progression of learners.
* Knowledge of current teaching practices and experience of utilising a range of teaching practices to enhance the learning journey and learner progression.
* Ability to inspire and motivate learners to achieve their optimum.
