At AO, we’re on a journey with equity, diversity and inclusion – and this role is a big part of where we’re heading next. As our ED&I Coordinator, you’ll be the engine behind our inclusion commitments, helping us move from good intentions to meaningful, practical action.
Responsibilities
As the ED&I Coordinator, you will:
* Support employee networks and community – keeping ERGs active, representative and well supported, coordinating new forums, and acting as the key link between ERGs and the Group HR Director.
* Represent AO at community events and with external partners, building our profile as an inclusive employer.
* Support the delivery of the ED&I strategy, translating commitments into prioritised practical action plans.
* Project‑manage ED&I workstreams, keeping work on track and stakeholders informed.
* Work with colleagues across the business to ensure priorities reflect the lived experience of AOers.
* Contribute to the review and update of people policies and guidance in line with best practice and legislation.
* Co‑ordinate focus groups, surveys and consultations to understand AOer experiences.
* Analyse data to identify trends, inform priorities and measure progress, and support regular ED&I reporting against agreed objectives.
* Keep up to date with national policy, research and sector best practice, sharing learning with the team, and work with Learning & Development to build and coordinate ED&I learning for AOers and stakeholders.
* Act as a trusted source of advice on equality and inclusion topics and embed ED&I best practice into everyday ways of working across AO Group, supporting inclusion across the employee lifecycle and influencing teams to drive lasting change.
Qualifications
* Strong understanding of equity, diversity and inclusion principles, including bias, privilege, social mobility and intersectionality.
* Experience coordinating ED&I projects or programmes of work, with a proactive and organised approach.
* Confidence building relationships and influencing colleagues at all levels, even when ED&I isn’t a familiar topic.
* Tactful, empathetic style and ability to handle sensitive conversations with care.
* Sound knowledge of People and HR processes, focusing on embedding inclusive practice across the employee lifecycle.
