This is a 41 week sessional post i.e. working hours will be during school term time, school in-service days, plus 2 additional weeks during the school holidays.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a School & Family Support Worker to Preston Tower Primary School. This post is being recruited to in response to the Pupil Equity Funding from the Scottish Government. This funding is being provided to improve educational outcomes for children and young people impacted by poverty, with a focus on closing the poverty-related attainment gap.
The School & Family Support Worker will be an integral part of our school, supporting children in their learning and wellbeing. You will also work with families to mitigate the impact that vulnerability and hardship can have on their ability to fully engage with their child's learning.

Preston Tower Primary School is located in the coastal town of Prestonpans. It is a very large school split over two campuses; We currently have over children from Nursery – Primary 7. The school was established in, following the amalgamation of 2 schools.
Our West Loan Campus currently has thirteen P1 – P3 classes and two rooms in our nursery. Our Preston Road Campus has sixteen P4 – P7 classes.
The Senior Leadership Team includes our Head Teacher, 4 Depute Head Teachers and 2 Principal Teachers.
