Are you a competent and multiskilled Refurbishment and Maintenance professional or builder looking for a new challenge?
We are seeking an experienced Refurbishment Operative to join our newly formed Refurbishment team, working on refurbishing our children’s homes and schools as part of our expansion. You will be part of a team responsible for planned refurbishment, maintenance, and repairs, including plumbing, plastering, painting, basic electrics, and gardening.
The role requires flexibility to travel across the region to support our growth. You will report to the Maintenance Manager, Graham, and be part of a team of three.
Key Responsibilities
* Refurbishing homes/schools to readiness for opening and performing maintenance tasks as needed.
* Collaborating with the wider maintenance team across our facilities.
* Adhering to health and safety regulations and reporting issues.
* Being a key holder responsible for opening and locking the premises daily.
* Taking annual leave outside the peak school holiday period (July to September).
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
* Experience in general maintenance, delivering high standards.
* Proficiency in plastering, building, and decorating.
* Basic plumbing knowledge.
* Excellent communication skills for effective liaison.
* Safe use of powered hand and bench tools.
* Ability to work independently and within a team.
* Competence in IT systems; experience with Jira is advantageous.
* Full driving license and flexibility to travel, including overnight stays.
Salary up to £33,000 per annum, with benefits including 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, a company van and fuel card, overtime pay, sick pay, life insurance, healthcare plan, recognition awards, employee assistance, discounts, and a company holiday home in the Peak District.
