Role Overview
GSL are seeking an enthusiastic Teacher of English to support students in a secondary school setting. This role involves delivering high‑quality English lessons and helping students develop strong literacy skills, critical thinking, and a passion for language and literature.
Responsibilities
* Deliver high‑quality English lessons and support students in developing strong literacy skills, critical thinking and a passion for language and literature.
* Work alongside experienced teachers and support staff to help students access the curriculum, build confidence, and achieve their full academic and personal potential.
* Deliver engaging English lessons across a range of topics.
* Support exam preparation and coursework development.
* Provide clear and constructive feedback while monitoring student progress.
* Encourage student progress through targeted interventions.
* Plan and deliver engaging lessons in literature and language, preparing students for assessments and examinations.
* Promote positive behaviour, engagement, and a love of learning.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues within the department and wider school to contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement.
* Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
* Support students in enrichment and extracurricular activities such as clubs, trips, and wider school events.
