SEND Teaching Assistant
We are an agency recruiting on behalf of a well-respected school in Trafford, seeking a dedicated and passionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team. This role is perfect for someone passionate about supporting students with special educational needs and eager to make a positive impact on their educational journey.
About the School
The school is a community-maintained specialist primary school with a capacity of 120 students, including additional nursery provision. It caters to children aged 3-11 with complex learning needs, including learning difficulties, autism, Down syndrome, sensory impairments, and developmental delays. The school is committed to providing personalised teaching and learning strategies to meet individual needs and learning styles. With a strong multi-agency professional team, the school aims to support children with special educational needs and disabilities to reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with special educational needs.
2. Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
3. Support classroom teachers in managing student behaviour and fostering a positive learning environment.
4. Help with the preparation of learning materials and resources.
5. Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
1. Previous experience working with children with special educational needs.
2. A relevant qualification in education or childcare (e.g., CACHE Level 3, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent).
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with SEN.
