The Role: Civils Supervisor
We are recruiting for an experienced Civil Supervisor to join a growing power and utilities contractor delivering critical infrastructure projects across the UK. This is a hands-on supervisory role where the Civil Supervisor will lead excavation and reinstatement works on mains electrical networks in both private and highway environments.
As a Civil Supervisor, you will manage site teams working on DNO and IDNO connections, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in line with industry standards. Location: East of UK site coverage
Type: Permanent, full-time
Main Responsibilities:
* Supervise excavation and reinstatement works in line with HAUC standards
* Oversee civils activities on mains electrical networks (DNO / IDNO projects)
* Lead and manage site operatives, ensuring safe systems of work are followed
* Ensure compliance with HSEQ policies, risk assessments, and method statements
* Coordinate plant, equipment, and vehicle use including LGVs
* Manage emergency call-outs and standby rota participation when required
* Conduct site inspections to ensure quality, safety, and regulatory compliance
* Communicate effectively with project teams, clients, and operatives
* Ensure accurate digital reporting and documentation of site activities
Skills / Experience:
* Proven experience as a Civil Supervisor within utilities or power distribution
* NRSWA Supervisor (Units S1–S7) qualification
* EUSR SHEA Power card
* Emergency First Aid certification
* Experience working on highways and private land installations
* Strong leadership and people management skills
* Sound knowledge of health & safety legislation and HSEQ best practice
* Confident using digital job management and reporting systems
* Full UK driving licence
Salary & Working Hours:
