About the Role
As a People Adviser at NPL, you’ll be part of the team that’s at the forefront of delivering a great colleague experience, enabling them to help us deliver our vision and mission. This role is a 12-month fixed term contract, and you must be able to commute to NPL in Teddington twice per week.
* Establish a route for colleagues to feel supported with their employee relations queries, offering procedure guidance, signposting, and support where needed.
* Work closely with the People Adviser team to enhance understanding of early intervention and informal resolution opportunities.
* Champion our well-being offering, ensuring colleagues have access to support and scanning for best practices.
* Support continuous improvement of people procedures, ensuring they are fit for purpose and compliant with legislation.
* Manage a portfolio of projects to improve the colleague experience with appropriate tools, data, and guidance.
Ensure all interactions are fair, process-driven, and legally compliant. No two days are the same; you’ll liaise with colleagues and deliver on People projects, supporting a positive experience that retains the best talent. This role is internally known as a People & Development Adviser.
About You
* You should have a passion for enhancing colleague experience, with proven experience in employee relations matters and sound judgment to assess risk.
* You should be a great communicator, able to listen, simplify complexity, and plan effective solutions.
* You should be comfortable managing a diverse portfolio independently, delivering results, and finding solutions when clarity is lacking.
* Tech-savvy, confident with systems and data; experience with MS SharePoint and Power BI is a bonus.
* You should align with our values in your approach to stakeholders, colleagues, and the quality of your work.
