The role
You will join an existing team of researchers at Bristol and you will contribute to the ELABORATOR Horizon Europe Innovation Action. You will undertake fundamental as well as applied research on novel applications of machine learning techniques on mobility data towards resilient, safe, inclusive and sustainable urban micro-mobility systems. You will become member of an international, 38-partner team comprising computer engineers, architects, designers, urban planners, and local administration professionals.
What will you be doing?
In collaboration with project partners, you will:
1. Apply machine learning techniques for the analysis of mobility data and to propose novel mobility prediction models.
2. Undertake fundamental and applied research on privacy-preserving information sharing for urban micro-mobility systems.
3. Lead and contribute to the authoring of journal and international conference publications.
4. Assist with research project administration duties, such as the authoring of verbal and written reports and project deliverables.
5. Represent the University of Bristol in project meetings, presenting your work, taking feedback and developing your individual research directions.
6. Create and maintain technical documentation.

9. You understand the nature and complexities of developing working prototypes of research ideas.
10. You have prior experience of working as a member of interdisciplinary teams, ideally teams comprising members with an engineering background as well as without one.
11. You enjoy being member of a large, international team of engineers and researchers.
12. You can build strong, effective relationships with a range of people from different sectors and levels of engineering expertise.
13. You have excellent communication skills and can clearly articulate research ideas verbally and in writing to a wide range of audiences.
