A Unique, Career-Defining Opportunity Exclusively Available through Grõ Careers This is not your typical Part II position. It’s a chance to join a leading real estate investor/developer’s in-house architecture team - an opportunity that few architects ever get to experience, let alone at this stage of their careers. In this client-side role, you’ll be immersed in high-profile projects from day one, making it a truly career-defining move. As part of this team, you will work on creatively complex, design-led developments that rival those in top-tier studios. From breathing new life into historic landmarks to crafting high-end residences and innovative mixed-use complexes, the scale and complexity of these projects are second to none. On select landmark schemes, the in-house studio also collaborates with world-renowned external architects, giving you exposure to the industry’s leading design minds while maintaining a hands-on role. Design to Delivery: Full-Cycle Experience In this role, you won’t be siloed into one project phase - you’ll engage in every step of the process. Some highlights of what you will do include: Own projects from vision to reality: Contribute across all RIBA stages (0-7), from initial brief development post-acquisition, through concept and on to final on-site completion, with true ownership at each stage. Collaborate at the core of development: Work closely with internal development and construction teams, gaining insight into how projects are appraised, financed and delivered - exposure far beyond typical architecture practice. Solve complex design challenges: Partner with leading structural, MEP and planning consultants (and world-class external architects on flagship projects) to resolve technical issues and push design quality to its highest potential. See your designs built: Regularly visit active London sites to review progress, resolve issues, and witness your designs come to life. This immersive, end-to-end involvement means no hand-offs and no being stuck in a silo. You’ll gain a rare 360° perspective on how great architecture is conceived, developed, and constructed, seeing first-hand how design decisions impact real-world outcomes like buildability and value. About You - Qualifications and Qualities We’re looking for an ambitious and highly creative emerging architect who can balance creative flair with technical acumen. Key requirements include: Education & Experience: RIBA Part II qualification (Master’s level in Architecture) with at least one year of UK-based professional experience - ideally gained as a Part I assistant in a leading, design-driven London practice working on complex London projects (Luxury Residential, Boutique Commercial, High-End Retail – high value and design-driven projects – Listed Building experience highly desired). Design & Technical Skills: Proficiency in Revit and BIM workflows (preferred), alongside strong skills in 2D/3D design tools and visualisation software. A well-curated portfolio demonstrating both conceptual design and detail resolution is essential. Knowledge: Familiarity with UK planning policies and Building Regulations (experience on London projects, especially heritage or high-end residential schemes, is a bonus). Mindset: A collaborative team player with excellent communication skills and a self-motivated, proactive attitude. You have a curiosity about the development process and a desire to broaden your career beyond traditional practice - you’re as excited about how a project gets built as you are about designing it. Your Future For most architects, moving client-side is a mid-career dream - here’s your chance to make that leap now while still staying deeply involved in design. Working in this unique environment will fast-track your development whilst giving you a holistic skill set that traditional practice rarely offers. You’ll learn how to balance design ambition with commercial reality, understanding the inner workings of real estate development as you help shape a portfolio of the most sought-after projects. Such broad exposure opens up multiple future pathways. Whether you become a qualified architect leading visionary projects, transition into a development management role, or head up major projects as a client-side project manager, you’ll be equipped with insider knowledge and experience that set you apart. Few opportunities at Part II level offer this kind of career trajectory - this role is genuinely rare.
