HR Consultant - Part Time/Flexible Location : Kettering (Hybrid) Hours - 22.5 hrs pw (Ideally Weds-Fri) Salary - £Competitive DOE We’re looking for an experienced and commercially minded HR Consultant to join a busy and growing HR consultancy. This role is ideal for a confident, hands-on HR professional who enjoys variety, autonomy, and building strong client relationships across multiple industries. About the role:- This is a part-time consultancy role (3 full days per week - could also be 5 shorter days) offering full flexibility around your personal commitments. You’ll work closely with SME clients, providing expert HR advice and support across the full employee lifecycle — from day-to-day queries and employee relations to complex casework and tribunal matters. Key responsibilities: Provide professional HR advice and guidance to clients via phone, email, and face-to-face meetings. Manage a wide range of ER casework, including investigations, disciplinaries, grievances, disputes, and absence management. Lead on complex employee relations cases and Employment Tribunal matters Draft, review, and implement HR policies, contracts, and handbooks. Advise senior leaders on risk, compliance, and best practice, offering practical solutions tailored to each business. Support clients in developing leadership capability and HR confidence within their teams. Work proactively to identify new opportunities within the client base and contribute to business development. Maintain accurate client records, ensuring all activity is logged and managed effectively.What we’re looking for:- At least 10 years’ experience in HR, ideally within SME environments. Strong, up-to-date working knowledge of UK employment law and case law. Proven experience handling complex disciplinary, grievance, and dispute resolution cases. Employment Tribunal case management and hearing experience – essential. Commercial approach, with a solid understanding of how HR supports business performance. Excellent communicator with strong influencing and listening skills. Resilient, resourceful, and comfortable advising at a senior level. Able to juggle multiple clients and competing priorities with ease. Confident in HR policy development, implementation, and compliance. Comfortable supporting and upskilling line managers in people management. Experience in business development and selling HR services, with the ability to identify opportunities and close deals.
