Robert Walters Group are currently supporting a rapidly expanding business based in Wycombe in their recruitment of a Finance Assistant to support the smooth operation of the finance department, working closely with the rest of the team. This is a hands-on role that covers a wide range of financial responsibilities, including accounts management, invoicing, credit control, and general administrative support. The role will be paying between £28k - £35k based on experience. Finance Assistant Key Responsibilities: Allocating payments (via cheques, BACS, or cash) to the appropriate ledger accounts. Posting all debtor invoices to the ledger. Performing cash reconciliations. Making payments to suppliers and processing BACS payments. Reviewing and processing invoices based on delivery or proof of delivery notes, making amendments when needed. Uploading orders to SAP and issuing invoices to customers. Creating and issuing credit notes as required. Addressing any customer queries regarding invoices. Reconciling sent invoices against statements and making necessary adjustments. Processing Debit Notes and posting them to the ledger as necessary. Preparing weekly and monthly sales reports. Monitoring customers' accounts and following up on overdue payments. Sending account statements to customers. Collaborating with other departments and providing necessary information. Following up on missing deliveries and resolving related issues. Assisting with financial reporting and forecasting. Inputting orders into the system. Updating order statuses on SAP. Posting invoices to the ledger once authorized. Matching batch invoices with purchase orders. Monitoring and overseeing the invoicing process to ensure accuracy and timeliness. Assisting with Sales Order Processing and various administrative duties as needed. Generating and issuing documents for customer deliveries and pickups. Updating and maintaining customer information in SAP. Filing and organizing delivery documentation. Providing support to management as required. Collaborating with other departments as necessary. Required Skills and Experience: The ideal candidate will have several years of experience in a busy accounts department, preferably within an SME, where they have gained exposure to a broad range of finance and accounting functions. A flexible and disciplined approach to work is essential, as is the ability to take initiative and make sound, responsible decisions when needed. SAP experience is essential for the role.
