Overview

Clinical Technologist in Nuclear Medicine. Nuclear Medicine is a recently renovated regional department with three SPECT gamma cameras, two with CT and a modern Radiopharmacy unit, and a recently upgraded Hermes Medical image processing system. Lincoln County Hospital has two SPECT-CT gamma cameras (Siemens Pro-SPECTA and Philips BrightView XCT, SPECT/CT) and one SPECT camera (Siemens Evo). Approximately 4,000 patient imaging procedures (adult and paediatric) are performed per year with a high proportion of bone, renal and cardiac procedures. The post holder will be involved in all routine activities, including radiopharmacy, imaging, non-imaging, image processing, equipment QC, MRT, dispensing and injecting radiopharmaceuticals. This will require flexibility of working hours as start times vary. This is a Monday to Friday service with occasional optional weekend clinics.


Responsibilities

* The post holder will be involved in all routine activities within the Nuclear Medicine Department, including radiopharmacy, imaging, non-imaging, image processing, equipment QC, MRT, dispensing and injecting radiopharmaceuticals.
* Maintain flexibility with working hours as start times vary.
* Perform duties in line with the Nuclear Medicine Department responsibilities.


Qualifications and Experience

* Essential
o BSc Clinical Technology (nuclear medicine) or HND in MPPM (medical physics and physiological measurement)
o Member of the RCT - Register of Clinical Technologists (IPEM)
o Current, in-depth experience in Nuclear Medicine Services
o HPC registered Radiographer (or eligible)
* Desirable
o Higher Degree or equivalent
o Completion of the training scheme for Clinical Technologists specialising in Health Care satisfying IPEM training scheme
o Holder of Immediate Life Support certificate
o Holder of Moving and Handling Training Certificate


Evidence of Knowledge, Skills and Aptitudes

* Essential
o Good IT skills (e.g. spreadsheets and databases)
o Manual dexterity to handle radioactive materials
o Ability to present complex information to a patient
o Able to move/handle patients as required
* Desirable
o European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL)
