Thepost holder will work along side the full respiratory team providing aservice to respiratory care in an acite and log term setting.Children may bemanaged on the wards, intensive care units, specialist clinics, in the outpatient department and in the community.
Thepost holder will work closely with the multidisciplinary team includingmedical staff, nursing staff, occupational therapists, speech therapists,play therapists, dieticians and psychologists. They will also be encouragedto liaise with other agencies that support children and their families.

The childrens physiotherapy teamis a team of approximately 40 physiotherapists and physiotherapy assistantswho work across Leeds Childrens Hospital. They have a wide scope ofexperience and enjoy developing and teaching new members of the team. Theteam is based on the Leeds General Infirmary site but also covers theNeonatal Unit at St James Hospital. Transport is available to move betweensites for staff.

Job responsibilities

To perform physiotherapeuticassessment of paediatric patients with diverse presentations and complexphysical and psychological conditions, to provide a diagnosis and develop anddeliver an individualised treatment programme.
He/She will participate in the Band6 paediatric rotational scheme which involves working across a range ofsettings.
To be responsible for their owncontinuing professional and personal development.
To participate in the PaediatricOut of Hours service
JOBDIMENSIONS
To hold responsibility for own caseload and be responsible for a defined area of the service or a particularpatient type, working without direct supervision. Access to advice and support from a seniorphysiotherapists is available if required, clinical work is not routinelyevaluated.
To undertake all aspects ofclinical duties as an autonomous practitioner within this specialist field.

* Moving and handling patients and equipment is a requirement of this post
Experience
* Substantial post graduate clinical experience including relevant core areas of respiratory medicine, neurology, musculoskeletal in and outpatients with at least one rotation in paediatrics
* Experience in paediatric respiratory care.
