Finance Director📍 Newcastle upon Tyne - mainly on-site working 💼 Full-time | 37 hours per week | Permanent 💰 Salary: £85,000 - £90,000 (flexible for the right candidate)Shape the Financial Future of a Unique OrganisationThe International Centre for Life is a distinctive, mission-driven organisation where science, education, healthcare and commercial enterprise intersect. Located in the vibrant heart of Newcastle, we bring together a science centre, NHS clinics, and world-class research facilities to inspire curiosity, improve lives, and drive are now seeking an outstanding Finance Director to join our Leadership Team at a pivotal moment as we strengthen financial resilience, enhance commercial performance, and invest boldly in our OpportunityReporting to the Chief Executive, you will lead all aspects of financial strategy and operations across a complex, multi-faceted is a high-impact role where you will:
1. Lead financial planning, budgeting, reporting and forecasting
2. Ensure strong financial governance, risk management, and compliance
3. Support sustainable growth by balancing charitable purpose with commercial income generation
4. Provide clear, strategic financial insight to the Trust Board, subsidiary company and key committees (including audit, investment and remuneration)
5. Build and develop a high-performing finance team
6. Drive continuous improvement, innovation and effective use of technology across finance systems and processes
About YouWe are looking for a strategic and commercially astute finance leader who can operate with both vision and will bring:
7. Proven experience in a senior finance leadership role
8. A CCAB qualification (or equivalent)
9. Strong expertise in financial management, governance and strategic planning
10. Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to influence senior stakeholders and Boards
11. A collaborative leadership style and the ability to build high-performing teams
12. A forward-thinking, solutions-focused mindset
