The starting salary for this role will usually be at the bottom of the salary range and will be pro-rata if the working hours are less than full time.

The Role & Key Responsibilities

From your first day with us you will be part of a policing family making a real difference.

It is our mission to identify and protect vulnerable people, prevent and respond to harm and keep people safe.

The role holder will provide excellent executive support to the Sussex Resilience Forum (SRF) in planning and preparedness activities as well as the SRF's governance arrangements. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a busy team which works across all aspects of the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 in a pan-Sussex multi-agency environment.

In this role you will be you will be responsible for:

1. Working within the Business Management Team to set objectives aligned with the National Resilience Standards for Local Resilience Forums and other strategies
2. Facilitating the delivery of a robust SRF Governance system and support arrangements;
3. Managing the Sussex Resilience Forum inbox and incoming queries
4. Updating and maintaining Resilience Direct as a key repository for SRF documentation
5. Organising partnership events such as training and exercising
6. Supporting SRF Governance Boards and SRF Working Groups
7. Carrying out proactive horizon scanning pan-Sussex including the coordination of SCRIP multi-agency meetings and escalation of risks, where appropriate
8. Providing support in the event of an incident
9. Undertake research, investigation and produce reports when tasked by Governance Board Chairs, SRF Executive Delivery Manager, Resilience Leads and Capability work streams

Skills & Experience

10. Educated to A level or equivalent experience.
11. Proven experience of working in a multi-agency or partnership environment.
12. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with all levels of supervision and management with internal and external stakeholders.
13. Ability to work unsupervised in a multi-agency environment and coordinate work streams within the working groups.
14. Ability to produce concise, comprehensive reports including the ability to review and update plans.
15. Proven ability to manage, plan and prioritise own workload.
16. IT literate in Microsoft programs, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
17. Highly motivated and able to develop a co-operative working relationship with others.
18. Able to demonstrate excellent negotiation skills at different levels within an organisation and externally to partners and organisations.
19. Ability to understand new ideas and concepts and to assess their strategic value and practical implications.
20. Able to conduct research and analysis to produce complex management reports.
21. Evidence of strong organisational skills
