We are seeking
a Research Assistant to join the newly established research group led by. Dr Khan’s research develops and applies human organoid models to investigate the basic processes of blood and immune cell production, and how these mechanisms are disrupted in ageing and disease. This post will support research into establishing the use of 3D platforms as a model for haematotoxicity in the context of standard of care treatments.
You will hold a first degree in a relevant area, with experience in a life science laboratory or related discipline. Experience in molecular biology techniques (DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, western blotting, sequencing, cloning etc) with the ability to manage your own research and administrative activities is essential. Excellent communication skills, and experience of following protocols are also essential. Experience in cell culture, flow cytometry, drug dosing and assessing toxic effects (e.g. viability, metabolic dysfunction) are desirable. The post is available on a full-time basis and is fixed-term for 1 year funded by AstraZeneca UK Limited.
