Learning Support Assistant - SEN School Location: Ely, Cambridgeshire Contract : Long-Term Supply About the Role: Simply Education is working closely with a warm and welcoming Special Educational Needs (SEN) school that is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to support pupils with a range of learning and developmental needs, including Autism (ASD), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and complex needs. This is a highly rewarding position where no two days are the same. You will play a crucial role in helping young learners overcome barriers to learning by offering academic, emotional, and behavioural support-either on a 1:1 basis or in small groups. Your responsibilities will include: Supporting pupils with additional needs in and outside the classroom Assisting the class teacher with planning and delivering differentiated activities Promoting positive behaviour and supporting students' emotional regulation Helping with personal care, where necessary (training provided) Monitoring progress and reporting back to teachers and SEN staff About You: To be considered for this role, you will need: A genuine passion for working with children with SEN Some experience in a similar role (school, residential, care, or youth work preferred) Excellent communication and teamwork skills A calm, empathetic, and patient approach to working with children Willingness to undertake relevant training (e.g. Team Teach, safeguarding) Requirements: Right to work in the UK Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one) 2 professional references Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people Full UK driving license Safeguarding Statement: Simply Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
