Are you a qualified Occupational Therapist seeking a genuine work-life balance and a chance to thrive in a brand new healthcare environment, whilst both utilising and developing your clinical skills?
As a Disability Assessor you will work autonomously to assess the cases of claimants who are applying for the Personal Independence Payment (PIP) benefit, as part of the DWP Health Assessment and Advisory Service (HAAS). The funding helps support individuals to live as much of an independent life as possible. You will be completing assessments with individuals who have a broad range of health conditions, and you may conduct some assessments remotely.
An in-depth training programme is provided which is fully paid for, so you will feel fully equipped for your new role. This role counts towards your clinical hours, helping you maintain and uphold your registration.

Job responsibilities – Disability Assessor
* Use your clinical experience to work with people who have a diverse range of health conditions, understanding how their challenges and the impact of their disability affect daily life
* Work within an office-based and home environment to complete detailed, meaningful and respectful assessments over the telephone, video or face-to-face
* Interpret medical evidence and compile findings into a comprehensive report to support the decision-making process by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP)
Requirements – Disability Assessor
* We can only accept applications from Occupational Therapists for this vacancy
* HCPC registration is required
* You must have at least 1 year of broad post-registration experience; UK experience is essential
* Proactive, keen to learn and receptive to feedback
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Ability to work autonomously and IT competency is essential
