Job Title: Patch Caretaker Location: Medway, ME1 Salary: £24,500 Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 09:00 - 17:00. You may be required to work evenings and bank holidays as required. About the role We're looking for a Patch Caretaker to join our Maintenance and Estates team to support in ensuring our properties are maintained to a high standard, by carrying out cleaning and handyperson duties. You will provide a customer focused service to our stakeholders, and carry out work to our properties to ensure they are kept to required standards and are safe. You will primarily be based around the Medway area. Duties include: Ensure our properties meet health, safety and environmental standards. Ensure compliance with housing, health and safety procedures and policies at Social Interest Group and external governmental law and legislation. Cleaning buildings, rooms, end of tenancy cleans, prepare rooms for new tenants, basic repairs, maintenance and gardening. Work closely with our services, managers, colleagues, residents, and participants to identify any risks and/or faults, then follow the correct process for resolution in a timely manner. Accompany internal and external providers to ensure maintenance is carried out to a high standard in a reasonable time frame. Minor repairs including Minor plastering, lubricating locks and hinges, cleaning shower heads, replacing plugs and chains on sinks, baths, and basins. Fixing loose/replacing broken toilet seats, unblocking sinks, baths, and basins, replacing bathroom cabinets, towel rails, toilet roll holders and mirrors, replacing light bulbs, tubes, diffusers, and shades. Keeping garden soil and refuse clear of damp courses and air bricks, Changing domestic fuses, Service and cleaning of white goods and furniture, bleeding central heating radiators, fitting curtain rails, tidy dryers, washing lines, shelves, and rails. About you We're looking for someone who has a passion for what we do as an organisation and a passion for completing general caretaking responsibilities. You will be able and willing to complete maintenance, cleaning, and repairs within the given area. We're looking for someone who understands the needs of our residents and participant groups and can lead by example our values of Inclusion, Transparency, Ambition, and Empowerment in their daily role. We are also looking for someone who has: Proven appropriate experience in a similar role with similar responsibilities, this can include housekeeping, cleaning, or handyperson work Ability to use, learn, and adapt to IT at an intermediate level, including Microsoft and other software programs Ability to work flexibly and at various sites across Social Interest Group Understanding of the housing and social needs of people with multiple and complex needs Ability to create a psychologically informed environment through maintenance and estate services which is inclusive to different groups Willingness to keep on top of industry standards, and complete training as required for the role Alignment with our core values Please refer to the JDPS attached for more details on the vacancy and our requirements/key criteria.
