About the Practice and Team
South Wales Vets was established over 10 years ago on Malpas Road in Newport and has grown to four branches: Risca, Abertillery & Blackwood. The main Newport site features ultrasound, endoscope, dental radiography and Idexx in-house lab equipment; branch sites have Idexx bloods, a microscope, dental equipment and theatre.
Our group Clinical Director is based at the main Newport site and is hands-on with clinical work and team support. We have many certificate-holders within our group and encourage self-development with full support from your team and financial backing from the practice. We strive for high clinical standards, evidence-based medicine, monthly morbidity and mortality meetings, regular in-house CPD, practice meetings, and a caring, sharing culture.
Our group consists of 6 vets with a mix of full- and part-time roles; nurses are on hand and comfortable with schedule 3 procedures.
